We will be posting the new install instructions with pics for the IronMan Gen II Targa 94-06 Mustang and the 350Z Targa

Grilles

JMS Products Inc. lower grilles are designed to be installed with provided secure zip fasteners for a clean look that does not scar your vehicle.  Upper grilles bolt in using stock mounting points. All JMS Products Inc. grilles come with a rubber lining on the rolled edge for your vehicles protection.  As with installing any aftermarket part, please exercise care during installation.  Screw attachment is also possible, but will require drilling that will put permanent holes in your vehicle.

94-04 Mustang GT/Cobra: The upper grille installs using stock mounting points and hardware. For 99+GT, remove the stock grille which is held by plastic pressure screws along the top and small bolts along the bottom located on the underside of the bumper cover.  Remove the bumper cover fasteners between the headlight and grille so that once the headlights are removed, the bumper cover can be pulled away from the car so as to create easy access to the bottom retaining bolts of the grille. Remove the headlights by pulling the two rail fasteners on each headlight up and out, then gently pull the headlights straight out. 94-03 Cobra and 94-98 GT will require the emblem bracket to be removed and it is fastened by two (security style) torx head screws located just above the emblem. Then simply lift up the radiator support cover and slide your new JMS Products Inc. grille between the radiator support and the support cover.  Align the grille and reinsert the two plastic pressure screws while applying a light downward pressure to the mounting area with your opposite hand. This will ensure a tight fit as well as ensure the plastic pressure screws have seated properly.  Please note that some grille areas vary slightly on the 94-98 models.  Some have been known to sag slightly in the middle while others run flat.  JMS Products Inc. Grilles can be "tweaked" for a 100% perfect fit.  Please call us if needed.

The Lower grille is  even simpler...Run the provided Zip fasteners through the rear rolled edge of the grille in the same proximity as the posts located in the opening of the bumper. From underneath the back of the bumper cover, reach up and loosely attach each of the four zips around each respective post.  Systematically tighten each zip a little at a time as you draw the grille firmly into the opening.  Only tighten the zips as needed as the grille will be pressure fitted.  Over tightening the zips can misalign the grille.

94-04 Mustang C-pillar Scoop Kits:

Professional installation recommended!!

Scoop Speed ratings:  Our scoops are functional!!!

stock GT1 and GT2 are rated up to 120MPH

Stock CL2 is up to 100 (120 with notched rear)

If you plan on going above these speeds, please inform us at time of order so we can prep race version scoops .  You can also opt for inserts that block air from entering the scoop.

  * Be sure to keep panels upright before installation as laying them down for an extended period of time and can lead to distortion of the tail area.  Panels should be kept in the pictured position until they are installed.

1. Remove the OEM c-pillar and lower window molding.  This is accomplished by removing the interior plastic panel around the window.  This panel comes off by removing the seat belt bolt and coat hanger screw.  There are two or three plastic fasteners that help secure the piece and are easily detached.

2. Once the interior panel is removed and you will see bolts for the c-pillar.  A swivel attachment is recommended for easy removal of the aft c-pillar bolts.

3.  Pull down the window weather stripping above and around the door, then remove the weatherstrip mounting strip (torx bit) and underneath the strip you will find small philips screws that hold on the a-b pillar molding.   (there is small section of OEM  c-pillar that extends under the a-b pillar molding.)   Once loosened the c-pillar panel can easily be removed

Fitment:  We recommend a test fit of the panels before paint. Many cars differ slightly at the ab-c pillar junction at the top as well as the door molding height. We provide the panels "big" in these areas so that you can achieve a perfect fit.  Shaving these areas with blocked sandpaper  will allow you to accomplish a ZERO  tolerance fit.

Your new JMS Products Inc. C-pillar kit is now ready to be prefit.

1. Prefit the scoop to the base panel...  Both GT1 and CL2 scoops will be positioned 2" back from the front rolled edge, 3.5" from the bottom base panel edge in the front and 1.5" from the bottom base panel edge at the very rear or tail of the scoop. GT2 mounts 2" from the front edge with the bottom tail positioned along the bottom of the base panel. Be sure to keep the scoop opening parallel with the b-pillar.

2. Lay the base panel bolt side down

3. Mark holes for the scoop bolt on the base panel

4. Drill Four 1/4" holes and install the scoop with out the nuts (overboring the holes can weaken the mount area on the base panel)

5. prefit the base panel via preliminary install (no silicone or final tightening)

6. prefit the scoop to the panel.  The contact edges of scoop need to conform 100% to the panel.  Minor adjustments to the contact edge can be done by sanding the contact edge.  This step is critical..If the contact edge does not meet seamlessly without the scoop being tighten, the scoop edge will distort the base panel once the scoop is tightened.

7. Once the scoop is fit to the base panel, remove the base panel and do a final install of the scoop.  This step can also be where to begin the prep and paint.  It is recommended to paint the base panel and the scoop separately.

Be sure to transplant the weather stripping from your stock panel to your new custom made Retro C-pillar panel.  This is the strip along the top of the panel that runs along the rear window.  This can be easily pulled off the stock piece and attached to the new panel with a silicon adhesive or RTV.   Install the new c-pillar from along the bottom edge first then insert the top into the OEM bolt holesPlease note the first OEM bolt hole will need to be drilled out to 1/2" to match the other bolts. Insert the panel onto the 1/4 panel molding seam mount while holding the top of the pillar toward you.     Be sure this seam is parallel with the window.  This metal lip tapers slightly toward the window and in most cases needs to be straightened. This can be accomplished by using a pair of seamers.  Once the panel mounting rail is in place push the top of panel against the car.  The bolts will slide into the original OEM mounts( the  first bolt hole on OEM Mustangs will need to be bored to match the other 4 mounting holes)  Before tightening the bolts for the pillar, seat the rolled front edge of the panel in between the window weather stripping and the b-pillar window frame.  This kit installs over the 1/4 window and does allow the scoop to made functional if you decide you want to remove the 1/4 window. Please contact JMS Products regarding this modification.  Please run a bead of RTV or silicon on each washer and slide over the bolt before installing the nuts during final install.  This allows the washer to be firmly held in place while installing the nuts and prevents the nuts and washers from loosening over time from vibration.

Prep and Paint:   Prime and Paint w/ Flex agent.  ( We recommend the use of a urethane primer / sealer or epoxy primer before paint for best results)  If your paint is metallic use 600 +wet final.  If non metallic 400+ wet for final. Our panels come gel coated and will require primer and fine wet sanding as does any body part.  Be sure to instruct your paint shop to exercise extreme care if baking the paint as excessive heat will damage the panels.

Improper Prep...  Improper preparation of components will cause the warranty to be null and void.

Seasoning...  Prefit and install your panels prior to painting.  Allow the prefit panels to be on the car and exposed to the elements for a minimum of 10-14 days  before painting and be sure to expose the parts to different climate conditions. We provide a full warranty on our products and since many of our parts are "fresh" we require seasoning any fiberglass/carbon fiber body part we produce.  If a part is not seasoned and sprayed while "fresh", waving could occur as the fiberglass resin and resin based materials used will contract slightly over this period.

Void of Warranty: If seasoning time is provided and a defect occurs, we will gladly replace the affected part free of charge and we will make concessions for paint cost. If a part is not properly prepared or mishandled during the prep / install period the warranty on the product warranty will be void and we will not make concessions for paint cost.

If a shop has any questions about this process please e-mail us info@jmsproductsinc.com or call us 973-492-1134

Maxima Upper Grille Install:

1.  unbolt stock grille  2. Before installing your new JMS Products Inc. Grille, you must anchor the bottom of the bumper cover opening.  This is accomplished by driving two small aluminum self tapping screws into the base of bumpercover opening on each side of the center post (soon to be provided with kit).  This center post is the attaching support for the top span of the bumpercover opening.  Loop the provided zip fasteners through the rolled edge of the grille and secure to the existing bolt holes in the bumpercover from the stock grille.  Be sure not to over tighten the fasteners and only tighten the fasteners as needed for a snug positioned fit.

Maxima Lower Grille Install:

1. This install is best accomplished with 2 people since the one piece grille covers the width of the front bumper cover opening. From underneath the back of the bumper cover, reach up and loosely attach each of the zips around each respective bar on the stock lower grille.  This will require the loosening of the plastic protective shielding under the bumper cover which is held in by small plastic fasteners. With your install partner holding the grille in position from the front,  Systematically tighten each zip a little at a time as you draw the grille firmly into the opening.  Only tighten the zips as needed as the grille will be pressure fitted.  Over tightening the zips can misalign the grille.  The provided fasteners should be looped through the rolled edge of grille in the following areas:  4 top and bottom center on each side of the center post and 2 top and bottom on each end approximately 1-2 inches from the edge.
